Close the curtains-

If the sunlight will not raise your room temperature, then it means there is reduced work of the cooling system. It is also advisable that you close the windows to avoid hot air into the house.

Do not let the heat build up in the room-

By replacing the filters, you save the energy as the air conditioners will not do extra work. The dirt in the filters would have forced the air conditioners to use additional energy to keep the air cool on the house.
